Ekstrom Family Session

LOVE when 3 generations of families get together for pictures and love it even more when I have known the family for YEARS! I worked with Susie for many years and when Brenda was a teenager she was a one of the 1st babysitters for my kids. It was great to reconnect with the whole family on the family farm. Love the restored tractor that was a Christmas gift to Rick – it was his grandfathers old International M! Here are some of their favorite images:

Zwingelberg Family

Can I just say I LOVE extended family! There is just something about the relationships – both old & new – that is so special. And this family is very special! I did the youngest sons senior pictures a few years ago, so to get to reconnect with him and meet his older sisters and their families was wonderful. But can I just spell out – 7 children under 3 years old!!! The energy and enthusiasism was off the charts! The session was held at the Zwingelbergs rural Elgin home in their gorgeous backyard. A chilly morning, but the kids were real troopers. Photograph overload ahead – so many cute pictures!

Doesn’t get much cuter than these 2 sisters! I did their mom’s business headshots for work and then she scheduled a session for her girls. They are as pretty as their momma! Isn’t the little mermaid outfit to die for????

Katelyn & Amy

This was a super fun session I did before Christmas with Amy & Katelyn. They wanted to surprise their mom with a portrait for Christmas. So we did the session before Christmas in their beautifully decorated log cabin home and then Christmas morning they were able to surprise her with a gallery of proofs and then she was able to pick out beautiful images for her home. What a truly priceless gift these college-age girls were able to give their mom!

Reece didn’t have a lot of smiles for me – she was too interested in looking at everything in the studio! But she is a doll! Did family pictures with mom & dad, pictures with her cousin Ava and with her grandma. She couldn’t be any cuter!

LOVED this family session! This session was held on a beautiful summer morning at the Murihead’s Farmhouse in rural Plato Center. This family couldn’t have been any cuter – 2 sets of twins! Thats right 2 sets! Loved spending time with them and getting to know all their personalities. I have so many favorites from this session. Enjoy!

Laurich Family – Elgin Area Photographer

Published by Jan under family

Up next on the blog is the Laurich Family from Elgin.  I did their oldest son’s senior pictures a couple of years ago and will be doing Joe’s senior pictures this spring.  But we got the family session – including their adorable dog Rocky – this fall at Burnidge Forest preserve.  And since they have their Christmas card mailed out, I get to share that also!  Enjoy!

And a couple of storyboard collages:

Alex – ’13 South Elgin High School

Published by Jan under family,senior,teen

Love this brick wall! It is right outside the studio and it makes an awesome backdrop for images!
Love this family! Aren’t they gorgeous?

This family is a repeat client also. I did Sam’s senior pictures a couple of years ago so when Carrie called and said she wanted to combine Alex’s senior session with a family session I was elated! We had a chilly Saturday morning for the session, but everyone did great – the fall colors were beautiful and no one looked cold! We did studio shots and also walked across the street to Festival Park in Elgin.

Some trivia about Alex:
3 things people would be surprised to learn about you:
I have a hard time telling a lie, I am pretty funny & I hate when my mom cries.
3 things you couldn’t live without:

phone, friends, car
Fav movie or book:

Step brothers
I have NEVER…

gone skydiving
3 pet peeves:

loud talkers, people who chew like cows, and slow walkers at school.
3 foods for a year, what would they be?

Steak, pizza, and salad
If you won the lottery, what would you buy first?
Mansion
If I had 24 hours to live, I would…

Do whatever i could to have the most fun
Fav class or teacher in HS. Why?

Ms. Aiossa, shes the nicest teacher I have ever had!
What are your after graduation plans?
(college & major, work etc.)
Business degree at Illinois State University.
And then a couple “would your rather” just becasue they are fun!

Would you rather

never watch TV again

X never use the internet again
Would you rather

X always lose

never play
Would you rather

get caught with your fly unzipped

X get caught singing in the car
Would you rather

X be able to read everyone’s mind

always know the future

And some of my favorite images from the session:
