Woven Artistry – Richard Krupa

This commercial session was so educational! Richard Krupa is a true artisan. He is the owner and craftsman at Woven Artistry. It was such a pleasure to work with him and Cindy Hardy of Designers Ink. Richard needed images of his baskets and also headshot of himself. These baskets are incredible! A little bit about them:

Every piece of the baskets are MADE BY HAND. Raw materials are sourced & hand-harvested from trees in the Kentucky region. Every part is made by hand. The handles, hoops, ribs and pegs are rived from White Oak trees that are wrought by hand and wittled to shape & size. The weavers are from the bark of Red Elm trees. The layers of bark are separated like a fan, then woven into the warp & weft of the design.

. . ROOTED in the Earth
. . WROUGHT by hand
. . REBORN into fine artistry

He has had his baskets on display at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and also showcased in the book A Measure of the Earth: The Cole-Ware Collection of American Baskets. It was a honor to meet and work with him.

Where o where does the time go?  Wasn’t it just yesterday that I did your senior pictures Jess?  And now you are graduated from Judson University and preparing to go to Mozambique, South Africa to work and train in the operation of orphanages. You are a beautiful young lady – inside and out!

Burlington Central Jazz Band

Published by Jan under headshots,senior

I had the awesome opportunity to photograph the Burlington Central Jazz Band for the IMEA (Illinois Music Education Association) official program and to do some headshots of their amazing director Mr. Jim Struyk! So much fun! This is an amazing group of very talented musicians. We had to have the session on school property at 1:00 – so not ideal conditions but we made it work. They were a fun, fun group of kids that were really into having some unique images taken. It was a bright, sunny day, and we dragged a vintage couch out to the field and just had everyone pile on. Much laughter ensued and fun was had by all! (and yes – that is a chicken and cow costume in the 1st picture – don’t ask)

Tom Pizur – professional headshots

Published by Jan under headshots

I had the pleasure to photograph Tom Pizur of Pizur Financial Group and Veteran’s Advocate.  If you ever need any assistance with the legal paperwork associated with the federal veterans’s benefit services I can’t recommend him enough!  Helped me personally with all the assistance I needed to help my father apply.  Here is a variety of images I provided him.

Professional Headshots

Published by Jan under headshots

I had the pleasure of going to Illinois Constructors Corporation headquarters in Elburn to photograph the president of the company John Mackanin and his team of engineers.  They are in the midst of updating their website and print brochures and wanted business headshots and also more casual/working images of the men and the equipment. Here are some of their favorite images.

And a casual group shot of the team together
